Frequently asked questions

How do I play?

Trace your finger across the screen, and the shop owner walks in that direction. Carry delivered boxes to the ingredient shelves to restock them, stand in the register spot to check out customers, and walk up to an empty table to clear away the bowls. When you run out of ingredients, order more from the computer in the back.

Once your sales have built up, stand on the outlined spots on the floor. Your sales are used to unlock tables, ingredient shelves, stoves, and new areas. Tap “Next Goal” on the screen, and you will be guided to the next place you can unlock.

Where is my save data?

Your save data is saved automatically, only on your iPhone. There is no account registration and it is not sent to any server, so if you delete the App, your shop's progress is deleted along with it and cannot be recovered. It also does not carry over if you switch to a new device.

If you want to start over from the beginning, open “Settings” in the App (the gear at the top right) and choose “Start Over.”

Ads started showing after I switched devices or reinstalled the App

Tap the “Remove Ads” button on the right side of the screen to open the Remove Ads screen, then tap “Restore Purchases.” You need to be signed in with the same Apple Account you used to make the purchase. Note that only the “Remove Ads” purchase is restored; your shop's progress (save data) is not.

I bought Remove Ads, but video ads still play

“Remove Ads” removes banner ads, ads shown during construction, and ads shown at screen transitions. Video ads, which you can choose for things like a sales boost or a faster delivery, are optional and play only when you choose “Watch Video” yourself, so they remain available after your purchase.

I want to change my ad settings

You can review your ad consent choices in the App under “Settings” > “Ad Privacy Settings” (this option may not be shown, depending on where you live).

You can change whether ads may track you at any time in your iPhone's Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Ads won't play

Depending on your connection, ads may not load. Please wait a while, or switch your Wi-Fi connection, and then try again. You need to watch a video ad to the end to receive the reward.

I want to turn notifications on or off

You can switch them in the App under “Settings” > “Notifications.” For your iPhone as a whole, you can turn them on or off in Settings > Notifications > HotPot Story. Notifications are scheduled on your device; they are not sent from our servers.

I want to turn off sounds or vibration

In the App's “Settings,” you can turn Sound Effects, Music, and Vibration on or off individually.
